Spin is a great cardio session, you will get your heart rate up and get a sweat on whilst firing up your fast twitch muscles (these are the muscle groups we use when we want to run fast or kick at the end of a race).
Everything is done at your effort as you have a dial which controls how much effort you have on your bike.
Start2Jog Juniors is Glossop's first running club for 12-18 year olds. Our junior section trains and competes on road, trail, fell, track and in the Manchester Cross Country League. We provide an introduction to fitness for young people and an entry into running and we encourage participation across all abilities.
All our friendly, experienced coaches and co-leaders are fully DBS checked and they will present for the duration of the session to look after attendees and make sure they have fun!
We run regularly at Glossop parkrun, and once a month we do a bit of parkrun tourism and travel to run at a different location.
Once a month we head to the Manchester Regional Arena for our track night. Track running is good for every runner and we have members who attend from all the groups within the club including Juniors, Improvers, Intermediate and Advanced. Like our club sessions everyone will do the same session it’s just the amount of laps that will vary from member to member.
Circuits is a class which focusses on strength and cardio. The class is done with different "stations" and you will do an exercise for a couple of minutes and then move onto the next station. The class offers a full body workout as each station focuses on a different muscle group.
We have three training groups within the club - Advanced, Intermediate and Improvers group. We run the sessions at a variety of locations around Glossopdale depending on the type of session.
Conditioning is the physiological preparation of the body to help it cope with the demands of training. In the session we work to enhance strength, agility, balance, coordination and overall fitness through a range of different exercises.
Everything is done at your own effort and most of the exercises are done with your body weight.
